The Ancient One: Arrogance and fear still keep you from learning the simplest and most significant lesson of all.
Dr. Stephen Strange: Which is?
The Ancient One: It’s not about you.
Despite my being generally sour on anything Marvel lately, this line from the Doctor Strange movie sticks with me. In much of my decision making, I try to take my ego and psyche out of it. I have for a long time. Kind of an off-shoot of Stranger In A Strange Land, “I am God, Thou art God, all that groks is God…” thought, where I try to be aware of how my decisions impact the world around me and how interconnected we can be. I just… try to make sure my arrogance isn’t blinding me to so many things I could grok.
There are a lot of reasons that I’m thinking about this. In part to remind myself how much impact my ego can have. Or the impact other people’s can have.
Anyway, it next page is all set, going to upload it tomorrow, probably in the morning.
